Privacy policy
Effective October 15, 2026
Topolearn helps you see the concepts you need to learn before the one you want, and track what you already know. This policy explains what we collect to do that, why, who else handles it, and how you can see or delete it.
In short: we keep your account, your profile answers and your learning progress so the app can show your maps and your path. We don't sell your data, don't show ads, and don't use tracking or advertising tools. You can delete your account and data from the app at any time.
Topolearn is operated by Armapp LLC ("we", "us"). For anything about this policy, write to support@topolearnapp.com.
What we collect
Your account
- Your name, and your email address if you provide it.
- If you sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple: an identifier from that service so we can recognize you next time, plus the name and email address it shares with us. We never see your password for those services. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email address; if you do, we only get a private relay address.
Your profile answers
- Your age, which we store as a birth year; your level of education; and the subjects you're interested in. You give these when you set up the app, and you can change them in Settings.
Your learning activity
- How well you understand each concept you rate, which concepts you marked "need to learn", which you chose to hide, and the goals you pinned.
- A history of those changes with their dates, used for your streaks and weekly progress.
What you contribute
- Learning links you add, your votes on links, and which links you marked as helpful.
- Problem reports you send about the content, including any message or suggested correction you write.
Technical data
- Like any online service, our servers receive your IP address and basic request details (such as time and the page requested). Our hosting providers keep these in short-lived logs for security and troubleshooting.
- The app keeps a copy of recently viewed maps on your device so they work offline. This stays on your device.
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or any data from other apps, and we don't use analytics or advertising SDKs.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, show your maps with your progress, build your learning path, and suggest what to learn next.
- To show community information: links other learners added and how helpful they found them, and how many learners are studying a concept. These counts never identify you.
- To improve the content: we review problem reports to fix concepts and prerequisite links.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to answer you when you contact us.
What other learners can see
When you add a learning link, your name is shown next to it. Everything else about you — your progress, profile answers, goals and reports — is private to your account. Shared learning-path pages contain only concept information, never anything about you.
Who handles your data
We don't sell or rent your personal data, and we don't share it for advertising. We use these service providers to run Topolearn, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Google Cloud runs our servers (United States).
- Neon hosts our database, on Amazon Web Services (United States).
- Google Firebase Authentication handles sign-in.
- Google, Meta (Facebook) and Apple handle sign-in when you choose to log in with them. Their own privacy policies apply to your accounts with them.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your account, profile answers, progress, goals, votes and history right away. Learning links you added stay available to other learners but are no longer linked to you, and problem reports are kept without your name so we can still fix the content. Server logs are deleted automatically, normally within 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your data: your profile is in Settings, and your progress is on your maps and your progress page.
- Delete everything: in the app, open the account menu and choose Delete account, or follow the steps on our data deletion page.
- Get a copy, or ask anything else: email support@topolearnapp.com. We answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict processing, or to complain to your local data protection authority. We'll honor them; contact us at the address above.
Children
Topolearn isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data travels encrypted between the app and our servers. Access to our systems is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll also tell you in the app before they take effect.
