Agent output is often a file to hand on; knowing how artifacts are stored and shared avoids leaks.
When an agent produces a file, such as a report, a spreadsheet, a chart image, a slide deck or an HTML dashboard, Gumloop saves it as an artifact. It appears as a card in the chat, with a preview.
Useful behaviour:
- Saving a file with the same name again creates a new version instead of overwriting, and you can view the history.
- Artifacts open in a side panel, on their own page with a link, or from the task's Files list.
- Most common formats preview inline; very large or unusual files are download-only.
Sharing. Use the Share dialog to add people or teams as Editors or Viewers. You can also allow your whole organisation, or a public link, to view it. Public links come in two kinds: "Anyone with the link", or "Anyone with the password". With a password, share the link and the password through different routes (for example link by email, password by phone). Each agent has a default sharing setting for new artifacts, so check it on agents that handle sensitive data.
Interactive artifacts are web pages with small attached scripts that fetch live data from connected apps whenever someone opens them, like a live dashboard. Viewers must approve the data access first, and the live data uses the viewer's credits.
Treat artifacts like any company document: share the minimum, prefer named people over public links, and remember that a public agent does not make its files public automatically.
Remember
- Agent-made files are saved as versioned artifacts
- Share with people or teams; public links can require a password
- Interactive artifacts fetch live data when viewed
